The Red Star Line
In September 2013 the Red Star Line museum opened in Antwerp. Between 1873 and 1934, the Red Star Line’s ocean liners took about 2.5 million passengers, mostly migrants (amongst them Albert Einstein and Irving Berlin), from Belgium to America. The museum, set in the original Red Star company building, draws on photographs, films and official documents in order to trace some of these complex journeys.
