Beltracchi: The Art of Forgery
As an interesting comparison to ‘China’s Van Goghs’, which we will watch this week, I would like to recommend the very entertaining German documentary ‘Beltracchi: The Art of Forgery’ (2014). It tells the story of the art forger Wolfgang Beltracchi, who is now convicted and has spent tree years in prison. Different from the Dafen painters, he is widely seen as an artistic genius and continues to sell his paintings at high prices.
