Gursky’s Retrospective

I found the exhibition really fascinating, especially the gallery space itself in particular because depending on where you were at the upper levels, you could actually see the patterned movements of the crowd of visitors through the different spaces of the gallery in relation to Gursky’s photography which also depicted crowds and large perspectival views.

This is a short video (by the art auction house Christie’s) on the Andreas Gursky retrospective show we saw at the Hayward Gallery, narrated and led by the gallery’s director Ralf Rugoff.
