“Jews, Money. Myth” Exhibit
I was recently looking online for a London-based exhibit on money to compare to the money exhibit in the Ashmolean museum. I was surprised to find my google results dominated by a single, already-concluded temporary exhibit at the Jewish Museum London, titled “Jews, Money, Myth,” which even buried the British Museum’s money gallery from appearing on the first page of results. I could not help but think of the Gens Manifesto, point 4: “Class is Generated within Historically Shifting Dynamics of Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Kinship.” Antisemitism occupies a unique position in an intersectional and historical approach to studying capitalism due to the obfuscating of the actual “diversity of social relations of capitalism” through the maintenance of the antisemitic myth of the ‘Jewish financial/global puppet master.’ While the exhibit is over now, I have linked a NYT article about it, and also included the British Museum’s Money gallery information, just for anyone looking to see more money.

I just realized that at the other extreme is the ‘Jewish communist trope’ – also obfuscating of different relations to capitalism.
