London visit!

Dear all,

As we discussed earlier in class, on Saturday we will be meeting around 10.45 am at the entrance to the CURVE exhibition hall in the Barbican Art Centre. Barbican station is on the circle line; it takes about 18 minutes from Paddington.

We will first go to see Richard Mosse’s exhibition; for a review see https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2017/feb/15/richard-mosse-incoming-review-barbican-curve-migrant-crisis

Next we will have lunch – possibly in the Barbican cafe – and then move on to the second and show. As I said earlier, I would like you to let me know whether you would prefer to limit ourselves to two exhibitions or go for three, I am fine either way.

Could you comment on this post by listing your preferences; so if you want to go to only one more show just add the one you prefer to the comment box but if you would like to see both insert both shows. It would be great if your could do this by the end of today.

2. Do Ho Suh – Passages; see https://www.victoria-miro.com/exhibitions/501/

3. Hair  by Sam McKnight; see https://www.timeout.com/london/things-to-do/hair-by-sam-mcknight

I would like to end the day with some drinks in a local pub/bar …

THANKS!

Inge

Thank you, Chun. I have also heard from Misaki, who would prefer to see 2 exhibitions: Mosse and Do Ho Suh. What about the others?

Hi, I would be very happy to see all three, so both Do Ho Suh and Hair. Thank you, looking forward to it!

    Hi Inge,

It seems to me that 2 exhibitions may be better. The one: Do Ho Suh sounds interesting to me. Can’t wait to go. 🙂

I wanted to add Polly’s choice; she would like to see 2 shows only and prefers Do Ho Suh.

So as it stands we will go and see Mosse and Do Ho Suh. Anyone else who wants to add their voice?

    Inge

Also, which topic was chosen for next week? So I can start thinking about the assignment!
