Hi All,
First of all, THANK YOU for another excellent day of presentations and discussions on Tuesday. It is really great that everyone is working so hard and musical chairs is definitely another first, I am only a bit worried of what comes next……
I also forgot to mention on Tuesday that I am co-convening the VMMA seminars this term (week 2-4-6-8) on Fridays at the PRM starting at 1 pm. I think that many of the speakers/ topics will be relevant for my option and therefore I wanted to invite you to come along and engage in the discussion.
Tomorrow’s talk will be by Xinyuan Wang about social media use amongst Chinesr factory workers. Xinyuan has comducted a brliant ethnography in this factory and I can highly recommend het book Social Media in Industrial China which is downloadable for free via UCL press.
On top of that she is an accomplished artist in traditional Chinese painting/ calligraphy who uses her art in her fieldwork and in her outcomes. It might inspire you guys to do more visual work too!
